Favorite cartoon number 3: The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy

Did you guys ever heard of a cartoon named "The Grim adventures of Billy & Mandy"? How was it to you? Funny right? My mom won't let me watch this kind of cartoon when I was still a kid. It is because of the characters kept on swearing onto each other. Well, that's all in the past. It is not wrong to like this kind of cartoon right? This cartoon gets surreal and disturbing time to time, but one of my favorite jabs at comedy is twisted humor and that genre is greatly explored in this cartoon.

The opening theme picture

Our story follows a pessimistic girl named Mandy, her optimistic best friend named Billy, and the Grim Reaper himself, simply titled Grim. After losing in a limbo contest, Grim would be forced to be Billy and Mandy’s best friend for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, Grim is the one who has to suffer between Mandy’s constant abuse and Billy’s utter stupidity. Poor soul. Even with a large cast of characters, I can’t really think of any I particularly dislike. There’s plenty of funny side characters, such as the elephant-demon Fred Fredburger, an exterminator named Hoss Delgado, and retired villain General Skarr, who originally debuted in Evil Con Carne. But my favorite character comes from the main cast; Grim. While threatening and generally coming off as the ultimate evil, Grim is kind of the everyman. You root for him because, though he is immoral, you can see how much he suffers around the two kids. Not that it makes Billy or Mandy unlikable characters, but you can sympathize with Grim because you know what he goes through. He does get wrapped up with the morbid jokes on occasions, but it just adds more humor to his character.

I consider to be Grim Adventures to be one of Cartoon Network’s greatest. Instead of focusing on depth and coherent story, it focused solely on humor, and it couldn’t have done it any better.

Favorite cartoon number 2: Happy tree friends

Hey guys and gals, you must be wondering why I kept on posting some animal abuse cartoon blogs. I have nothing to do with that kind of stuff. These are only cartoons, not the real deal. Don't get me wrong, mmkay? In this post I am going to talk about "Happy tree friends" cartoon I found back 2 years ago. To the REVIEWSS!

What's cute, cuddly and horribly wrong? The adorable and extremely dangerous lives of the Happy Tree Friends, of course. Join these cute, sweet little critters as they picnic in the trees, frolic happily in the forest, step on bear traps, and into the paths of speeding cars. So join in with all your favorite furry animals, their great adventures and graphically horrific accidents and dismemberment and don't forget to wash your hands first!
The opening theme of Happy Tree Friends!

Cuddles: This cute little yellow bunny will make you laugh and cry as he runs along playfully, making mischief or being eaten by a crocodile.
Giggles: This shy and sweet little chipmunk will make you go "aww" with her "giggly" attitude.
Handy: This helpful carpenter beaver will give you a hand, or rather, what's left of it.
Lumpy: The blue dim-witted moose, whose attempts at doing anything become a disaster warning.
 Lumpy's epic fail magic performance!

Toothy: The buck-toothed beaver who tends to bite off more than he can chew.
Nutty: The screwy squirrel with a sweet tooth with sweets sticking all over himself. Sugary situations turn sour when he gets involved.
Nutty raiding sweet junk foods
Petunia: The skunk who is as sweet as she smells (also wears an air freshener necklace)!
Sniffles: The nosy, nerdy anteater who always sticks his nose into trouble.
Splendid: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Splendid the Flying Squirrel! This super-powered flying squirrel will do whatever a super-powered flying squirrel can to save you from danger!
Flaky: The prickly porcupine usually gets her pines in a prickle, I mean, pickle while fearing the many perils that surround her!
The Mole: This mole with a mole may be blind, but he can still see what's what's going on around him. Not really, but still manages to survive most of the time.
Disco Bear: He's not dead...yet! This break-dancing bear likes to get his groove on and the disco ball off-of him.
Playful Disco Bear having breakfast
Russell: Avast matey's! Pirate otter spotted off the port bow! Searching for pirate booty rather than having it handed it to him.
Mime: The reindeer with actions that speak louder than words and won't shut up!
Lifty and Shifty: These thievish little raccoon brothers will swipe anything they can get their grubby little hands on. They just need to work on getting away with it.
Cro-Marmot: Literally, the first "inanimate character." This ice-encaved, prehistoric cave bear will do "absolutely nothing" to make you laugh.
Flippy: War-torn and relieved of his military duties, this gentle bear veteran will reminisce old battles and "share" them with you personally.
Pop: The man of the house who does what he can to keep his son from danger, only to bring it to him.
Cub: Loveable, huggable, cutesy "cuddable" baby bear Cub loves to play and explore the world around him. Under the (sort of) watchful eye of Pop, he stays out of trouble and into danger.

Favorite cartoon number 1: Courage the Cowardly dog

Cartoons eh?  Everyone has their own favorite child hood cartoon out there, from hello kitties to some hot virtual animated anime girl with big breast. HAHA! Now I am going to talk about a cartoon called "Courage the cowardly dog". What can I say about this show that hasn't already been said? This cartoon has always been my favorite cartoon show since I were still young. I enjoyed it because this cartoon might be disturbing yet crazy funny, some sort of like animal abuse but mehhh, who cares? I am just having a laugh, not really abusing animals. This cartoon is very unique but it never really allowed to run anymore. Let us onto the reviews, okay?

Muriel Bagge sitting on a rocker chair, Courage the dog freaking out in the middle of the air, Eustace Bagge wearing green mask (From left to right)

The characters and basic premise of the Courage the cowardly dogs show involves a dog named courage lives in a middle of Nowhere (the area name), Muriel Bagge and Eustace Bagge. They were both farmers, but creepy stuff happens in Nowhere, and it's up to Courage to save his new home! The opening to the show is a black and white news report saying just that.

Some fan made art, Courage the dog on the left, monsters in the series on the right, including Eustace Bagge!
Each episode typically involves some random monster such as King Ramses or an evil cat named Katz trying to kill Courage and his family. Courage then must gather his courage and save the family he loves so much. Some episodes are very psychological in nature such as "Perfect" in which a very prude stick up her ass teacher appears and tries to teach Courage how to be 100% perfect. This episode could all be interpeted as a hallucination, or is it? A more comedic episode "The Gods Must Be Goosey" involves a goose who happens to be a God try and seduce Muriel. The Goose reminds me of Zeus.
 Courage the dog, being shaved!
The real draw here wasn't just the stories, but the characters themselves. You had that purple little dog Courage. You had Muriel. You had Eustace who lived for no more reason than to torture Courage, but you had other characters such as the arch-nemesis Katz who wanted to feed the family to his spiders, you had Courage's talking, sarcastic computer, and you had the evil Doc Gerbil.
The animation style that Courage utilized was uniqe. It was very abstract and surreal, using loads of colors and blending them together. The music was also devishley creepy. One episode took place in a junkyard, barley any dialogue with the nutcracker theme playing throughout as Courage fought off evil rats.
Courage the dog showing off his body, funny moments!

The comedy throughout the show was very dark and disturbing, and there were times when the show borderline what may have been acceptable on TV, but hey I'm glad it did.
Though the show sustains a cult following it was canceled without much reason, and it's a shame. Cartoon Network still shows reruns, but it's not the same. Please bring back Courage, please.
